What causes migraines?
The exact cause of migraines is unknown, although they are thought to be the result of temporary changes in the chemicals, nerves and blood vessels in the brain. Roughly half of all the people who experience migraines have a close relative with the condition, suggesting that genes may play a role.
Migraine attacks can be associated with certain triggers, which can include:
- starting their period
- certain foods or drinks
Our pharmacist will speak to you about the severity of your migraines and will give you medication to treat appropriately. In most cases Sumatriptan is given to the patient along with directions on how to take it.

Treatment starts from as little as £11.99 for six tablets. (These costs may vary depending on the market value of the treatment at the time)
